October 21, 2005 | William Kristol
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash.com GOP Hypocrite of the Week. If there is a neo-con intellectual elite, William Kristol is their most ubiquitous spokesperson. With a job at the Rupert Murdoch-subsidized "Weekly Standard," Kristol is the William Buckley of the PNAC crowd. But Kristol just uses a ten-dollar vocabulary to mouth the same basic Republican message points and platitudes that slip off of Bill O'Reilly's prostituted tongue. So now Kristol, FOX News, and the entire right wing echo chamber are claiming that investigating treason, perjury and the obstruction of justice is a trivial waste of time. Kristol's Karl Rove/Frank Luntz focus-group tested charge is that Patrick Fitzgerald is part of an effort to "criminalize politics." Forget that Fitzgerald is a Bush appointed U.S. Attorney who was assigned by Bush's justice department to investigate TreasonGate. Forget that it was the Republicans who unrelentingly abused the judicial and Congressional process to try and impeach a Democratic President over an act of fellatio. Forget that it was Kristol and his cohorts who told America that their only concern was the consistent application of the rule of law when it came to Clinton. Actually, don't forget it. Remember it well. Kristol is just an Ivy League Goebbels, whose only interest is ensuring that his bumbling, law breaking, lying, failed neo-con pals maintain their grip on power, even if they drag America down with them. When asked by the maniacal right wing Internet tabloid, NewsMax, what Bush should do about the outing of the people who exposed a CIA agent who specialized in the illicit tracking of Weapons of Mass Destruction, Kristol didn't miss a disingenuous beat. "The White House has to ask, 'How do we segregate this?'" Kristol commented. "Meanwhile, the president has to take the initiative on foreign policy and economic policy and sort of set this aside." Given that Bush appears to be involved in the cover-up, if not the actual condoning of the treason, it will be rather hard for him to "set this aside." So for advocating the impeachment of Bill Clinton for lying about oral sex, while condoning illegal Bushevik actions that put America at greater risk from Weapons of Mass Destruction, we name William Kristol the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. Remember our motto at BuzzFlash.com: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time. Catch up with you soon. |
