Welcome back to the BuzzFlash.com GOP Hypocrite of the Week.

Well, George W. Bush announced he now has a victory plan for the Iraq War more than a couple years late. He pulled off this dismaying public relations stunt in an imperial presidency stage setting that looked like it was borrowed from a warehouse of Mussolini props.

Now, suppose you are a passenger in a car on a dark night in the middle of a howling snowstorm. And the driver turns into a one way street -- in the wrong direction -- at full throttle. You alert the driver that he is going the wrong way, but all he says is "God is on our side, I'll make it go in our way because we have the biggest, best car in the world." It is too dark to look into his eyes and see whether he is stupid or mad.

But all you know is that he steps harder on the gas pedal, as you try to point out the one way street signs pointing in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, as cars swerve to avoid you, you see a massive garbage truck off in the distance heading your way. You frantically warn the driver, but he calmly tells you, "Jesus is with us. I will not change my route."

Well folks, George W. Bush is driving that car -- and we are his passengers.

Perhaps you will say Bush is displaying fanaticism in the face of reality and not hypocrisy. But Bush did land on an aircraft carrier a couple of years ago and declared "mission accomplished." Just this week, he apparently changed his mind and decided that we needed a plan for victory first. He also taunted the insurgents to "Bring 'Em On" a few moons ago, and a couple of thousand American deaths and countless Iraqi fatalities later, they are still "coming on."

Yes, that may be fanaticism, arrogance, stupidity, or incompetence. It's actually all of them. But it is also an on-the-record hypocrisy of a horrifying sort.

George W. Bush, you are, yet again, the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week -- and our lifetime.

Remember our motto at BuzzFlash.com: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.
