Welcome back to the BuzzFlash.com GOP Hypocrite of the Week.

Okay, the Republicans are always talking about how they want to ensure that voting is fair and played by the rules. The only problem with that is they almost always then deal from a deck of cards that ensures voting is unfair and not played by the rules.

Need we only remind you of the GOP vote stealing, fraud and intimidation ringleaders in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004: Katherine "Purge" Harris and Kenneth "Suppression" Blackwell.

But, apparently, violating the rights of voters is not limited to swing states. Why right up there in the "live free or die" state of New Hampshire, the Republicans stand charged with implementing a plan "to block [Democratic Party] get-out-the-vote calls."

A Republican consultant has already been sentenced to five months in prison for his role in the scheme. But now he is turning state's evidence against higher Republican officials, including one James Tobin. Tobin, by no coincidence, was the New England Chair of Bush-Cheney '04 and Northeast field director for the RNC and the NRSC in 2002.

As one Boston paper summed up the hypocrisy, "Despite a zero-tolerance policy on tampering with voters, the Republican Party quietly has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide private defense lawyers for a former Bush campaign official charged with conspiring to keep Democrats from voting in New Hampshire."

Mr. Tobin is innocent until proven guilty, but if he associates with skunks, smells like a skunk and acts like a skunk . . . well, you get the picture.

Tobin may not be a convicted criminal, yet, but that doesn't prevent us from awarding him with the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. Because, hey, he's a Republican. If he's not out there trying to fix the vote, he's not doing his job.

Remember our motto at BuzzFlash.com: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.

Catch up with you soon.
