May 19, 2006 | SEND TO A FRIEND Ben Ferguson
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. We've got to thank our good friend Randi Rhodes for outing our BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week, which she did during a shouting match on the Larry King show. No one is going to get a word in edgewise with Randi. They shouldn't even try. But young right winger Ben Ferguson made the mistake of attempting to get the best of Randi and paid for it dearly. Ferguson vigorously defended the Bushevik fiasco, known as the Iraq War. But when Randi challenged him as to why he wasn't fighting in Iraq if he were so gung-ho on the war, he made a most unusual claim. Of military combat age at 24, Ferguson justified his chickenhawk, armchair war boosting with this unusual claim: "I support the Yankees, but it doesn't mean I wear their uniform." As Jon Stewart might say, "Whuhhhhh?" At least you can argue that Ferguson is following in the footsteps of his cowardly heroes: Dick Cheney and George W. Bush. But that also means that he is an A-1 genuine hypocrite -- just as they were during the Vietnam War. Ferguson, Cheney and Bush all let other men die in their places, while advocating for conflict. So step right up Mr. Chickenhawk Ferguson. You are the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week -- and a coward to boot. Until next week, remember our motto at BuzzFlash.com: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time. Catch up with you soon. * * * This is the Ben Ferguson's first GOP Hypocrite of the Week award.
