Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.
Last week, we held off on choosing Carey Lee Cramer as our Republican honoree, because, at that time, he was only accused of pedophilia. But now, it's official: the GOP consultant was convicted of pedophilia and found guilty of "aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child by contact and one count of indecency with a child by exposure."
As the wire service story on Cramer's June 28th conviction noted, "Cramer gained national attention during the 2000 presidential election when his company created the ad that accused the [Clinton/Gore] administration of giving nuclear technology to China in exchange for campaign contributions."
It turns out that one of the girls he molested was the 8-year-old girl featured in the ad. Now, she "stands as his accuser."
So a Republican Rove-style attack dog, hired by still-anonymous Republican donors, is now a felon sexual abuser of children. Perversion appears, so often, to be the other side of the faux "family values" GOP sloganeering.
Cramer faces up to 149 years in jail for his crimes. If the prison doesn't give him Internet access, someone let him know that he was chosen as this week's BuzzFlash "GOP Hypocrite of the Week."
