Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.

Well, we finally liberated the Iraqis, only it turned out to be from Donald Rumsfeld.

Yes, there was apparently cheering in Baghdad at the announcement of Rumsfeld's "resignation."

But Rumsfeld is defiant to the end. He knows better than the Iraqis what is good for them, and he's certain his war was not the victim of failed implementation. You see, Rummy wants you to know that it is all just the failure of us common folks and Iraqis to understand his grand scheme.

The Iraq War, Rumsfeld claims, ''is not well-known. It was not well-understood. It is complex for people to comprehend.''

Of course, Rumsfeld originally told us that the war would take no longer than six months and might be over in six weeks. That was thousands upon thousands of American and Iraqi lives ago -- and hundreds of billions of our tax dollars uselessly wasted.

Donald wants us to know that he is a misunderstood man, who has been maligned by the insufficient cognitive abilities of the average American or Iraqi.

As Rumsfeld famously told the press corps a couple of years back, "There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones."

We do know that Rumsfeld is a hypocrite who revises his statements and viewpoints to try and explain away his disastrous performance.

Now that Rumsfeld's departure is a "known known," we hope that he receives comfort in knowing that he is leaving as the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.
