EARLY NOTICE OF THE HOTW
Dick Cheney
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.
No matter how many times we honor Dick Cheney as the BuzzFlash GOP
Hypocrite of the Week, he still doesn’t get his due from our
readers.
Bush is the front man in the administration and Dick, by his own account,
operates in the dark shadows.
But when you look at actual policy decisions, Cheney almost always
appears to be lurking off to the side, making sure that Junior does
his bidding.
So, it came as little surprise that Cheney has known of secret
negotiations between
the Israelis and Syrians on a peace treaty, while egging Israel on
in the ill-fated recent war with Hezbollah.
And Cheney, according to the BBC,
spurned offers by Iran at reaching a level of peaceful coexistence.
As Henry Kissinger, the architect of the Nixon stage of the Vietnam
disaster and supporter of war crimes in South America and elsewhere,
gives disastrous advice to Bush on the one side, Cheney is ensuring
a continued state of war on the other.
It’s the grossest and most unforgivable of hypocrisies to be
claiming to protect our nation’s national security on the one
hand, while seeking to ensure avoidable wars on the other.
Dick Cheney may do his dirty work from a cave somewhere, but he’s
the Rasputin behind Junior’s throne.
Until next week, remember our motto: So many Republican hypocrites,
so little time.
Catch up with you soon.
