October 12, 2007 | SEND TO A FRIEND | GET EARLY NOTICE OF THE HOTW George W. Bush
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. The twentieth century was marred by wars of unimaginable brutality, mass murder and genocide. History records that the Armenians were the first people of the last century to have endured these cruelties. The Armenians were subjected to a genocidal campaign that defies comprehension and commands all decent people to remember and acknowledge the facts and lessons of an awful crime in a century of bloody crimes against humanity. If elected President, I would ensure that our nation properly recognizes the tragic suffering of the Armenian people.Well, it's seven years later, and Bush is pulling an Ahmadinejad. The Armenian resolution has 225 co-sponsors in the U.S. House, and is guaranteed passage if the Democrats call the bill. Given Bush's moral absolutism when it comes to war against Iraq and possibly Iran, it's a little hard to swallow -- to say the least -- his opposition to recognizing the genocide committed against the Armenians. Bush is not only the "decider"; but also he's -- yet again -- the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. Until next week, remember our motto: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time. Catch up with you soon. * * * This is the fifth time George W. Bush has won the HOTW Award in 2007. Bush also won it on August 24, 2007, May 4, 2007, February 2, 2007, and January 12, 2007. Bush has won the HOTW Award numerous times.
