EARLY NOTICE OF THE HOTW
The Architects of GOP Foreign
Policy
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.
There are a large number of people in the Republican Party "brain
trust" who could be called architects of their current foreign
policy, which varies little from day to day. But one thing doesn't
change about it: failure.
For nearly 8 years, this nation has been the victim of a corporate
media that has treated with kid gloves one of the monumental disasters
in international relations in modern American history.
It would be hard to know from FOX, Limbaugh, or even The Washington
Post -- which has long supported the Iraq War -- the extent to which
American interests have been destroyed by a foreign policy based on
a combination of chickenhawks who need to overcompensate, fantasy,
and the phantom pursuit of empire.
John McCain is a swirling dervish of sputtering macho postures in support
of exasperatingly ineffectual positions that we have paid for with
hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of American lives. His
policy, for instance, on boycotting a harmless dying Communist dictator
in Cuba is counterproductive to American business interests and the
democratization of that island by increased exposure to American citizens.
If stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again thinking that
dumb actions will suddenly yield success, the Republican Party is living
proof that having a low bar for intelligence is the key to advancement
in the RNC. Just start with Bush, who mistakes being stubbornly ignorant
for being correct.
The world has changed dramatically in the last 50 years, but the Republican
Party has gone backwards to a foreign policy that last saw its zenith
in the Roman Empire. And we all know what became of that enterprise.
You can see the ruins in Rome.
We came across a satire on the GOP's public posture recently, which
we'll excerpt because it applies to their so-called foreign policy:
republican problem solving handbook
when confronted with a 'problem' choose several activities from the
list below:
ignore it
exploit it
deny it
if asked about it at the beach, say 'talk to the sand'
create intricate web of lies about it
blindly support nutjob president
discuss it with your secret family
declare war on it, call it The War on (the problem)
build a fence around it…
cover it with a big flag
shake it, don't stir it
cover it with big dead soldiers, no photos
email Wright "goddamn America" youtube
throw free money at republican businesses
it's God's will, don't worry about it
praise its character building opportunities
clearly it was caused by insufficient bomb dropping…
order a report and refuse to release it
invade weak, oil rich country
shoot it with flag bullets
abortion did it
make cool naked prisoner pyramid for fun
classify it top secret, not pop secret
blame it on Dems 'San Francisco values'
Oh, yes, that's the game plan, as the world suffers the wrath of fools
with big bombs to drop.
Yes, those "Architects of GOP Foreign Policy" are the BuzzFlash
GOP Hypocrites of the week. If they installed plumbing in a house,
shit would come out the water faucet in the kitchen sink.
Remember our motto: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.
Catch up with you soon.
